Head of Marketing (Fractional)

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on marketing leader to take ownership of our marketing function in a fractional capacity. This role is ideal for someone who can combine strategic thinking with execution, and build effective marketing processes from the ground up within a resource-constrained environment.
About CodeSpeak
CodeSpeak is a new kind of AI-based programming system where English is used instead of code, while traditional Software Engineering practices like modularity or using git for versioning are preserved. English descriptions (called āspecsā) are much shorter than code, and describe programs at a higher levelā thus they are easier to read, navigate, and evolve. Unlike vibe coding tools, CodeSpeak preserves human intent instead of discarding it after code generation. It acts like a higher-level programming language that understands English, using LLMs as a toolānot the interface. The original reasoning stays visible, so developers collaborate in human language, not just machine-generated code.
Founded by the creator of the Kotlin programming language, CodeSpeak combines the LLM technology with the insight into the world of compilers and code analysis.
The project is still at an early stage, and you will be the first marketing person on the team. This means there is an opportunity to influence fundamental decisions and participate in creating a potentially revolutionary approach to programming.
Scope of Responsibility
You will oversee and coordinate several key areas:
- Leading the creation of social media content in collaboration with experts on the team
- Managing website and digital presence
- Arranging public appearances and speaking opportunities (podcasts, conferences) for team members
- Exploration and potential development of influencer marketing
What Youāll Do
- Be the marketing generalist (work primarily hands-on, thereās nobody else on the marketing team)
- Own and define the marketing strategy and priorities
- Take responsibility for key marketing metrics and performance
Who You Are
- A senior marketing professional with proven experience in 0 ā 1 projects, across multiple channels
- Both strategic and hands-on
- Strong understanding of performance metrics and growth levers
- Comfortable working with modern marketing tech stacks, including analytics, and automation
- Practical experience and interest in AI tools (e.g., content, research, experimentation, optimization)
- Able to identify and implement automations to scale impact
Nice to Have
- Experience with influencer marketing
- Background in managing public presence / personal brand / thought leadership
Location: Remote (Overlap required: 10:00ā13:00 London time) or Hybrid (Central London)
Type: Fractional / Contract (with potential to grow into full-time)
